ABRSM offers a number of diplomas (post-grade 8 qualifications), and in the coming days and weeks more of those exams will be catered for by Chimes. We're starting with the ARSM (Associate of the Royal Schools of Music) exams. These are Performance only exams where the candidate is required to perform a 30-minute programme, assessed on musical communication skills, interpretation and technical delivery. There are no written or spoken elements, no scales, sight-reading or aural tests or indeed any other tests.

ABRSM Diplomas are available worldwide and are held at the same venues as ABRSM’s graded music exams and during the same time periods.

Photocopies & downloads
Candidates should not perform from unauthorised photocopies (or other kinds of copies) or illegal downloads of copyright music in examinations. There are limited circumstances where copies can be used in an examination the UK. The MPA’s Code of Fair Practice gives further guidance. Before making a copy an application should be made to the copyright holder and evidence of permission should be brought to the exam. Candidates and Applicants must act within the law with regard to copyright.
