Developing an understanding and knowledge of music theory helps musicians at all levels to perform with sensitivity, awareness and control. It is a pre-requisite for entry for a Performance Grade 6, 7 or 8 that a pass at Grade 5 (or above) in Music Theory, Practical Musicianship or a Jazz Practical Grade must be achieved.
