Candidates perform three sets of pieces, one from each group, using the listed publications. Dynamic markings (p, mf, f, crescendo and decrescendo) should be included in the slow tunes only. A minimum of one position change is required at this grade. The performance should include examples of acciaccaturas, which should be clearly marked on the examiner’s copy. An own composition may be played instead of one listed set.
