The 9 Lieder op. 15, of the composer Johanna Senfter from Oppenheim, were probably composed around 1913, as this is also when the Passacaglia for two pianos op. 14 was written. The vocal miniatures mark the transition from the early to the mid-period of her work, but are still rooted in the late romantic tradition and oriented towards her great role model Max Reger.
