A contemporary of Albéniz, the highly literate blind guitarist Manjón (1866-1919) apparently started his guitar studies with a pupli of Aguado. He enjoyed a high reputation. A young Miguel Llobet was so impressed after hearing him that he decided to dedicate himself to the guitar and Austín Barrios asked him for lessons.
