The composition Invisible Cities for flute and piano was inspired by impressions and ideas that came to the composer while reading Italo Calvino’s book Le città invisibili by Italo Calvino. The listener is presented with various 'invisible cities' or fragments thereof. They all embody something enigmatic. And although all the cities are fundamentally different, they are nevertheless the same... A gripping, dynamic composition illustrates this. The musical language is major-minor tonal with some contemporary playing techniques. Compulsory piece in the Austrian National Competition Prima La Musica 2027
