Mozart Le Nozze di Figaro (Vocal Score)

Mozart's The Marriage Of Figaro was based on Beaumarchais' play and is the second of the trilogy which begun with The Barber Of Seville and later adapted into an opera by Rossini. Like Rossini's later opera Il Barbiere di Siviglia, The Marriage of Figaro depicts the aristocracy as buffoons controlled and outwitted by their cunning servants. Now, Figaro and Susanna are due to marry but must first outsmart the Count, who is resolute in being able to exercise the master's right to deflower the bride of his servant. This is the Schirmer edition of the Vocal Score, with an English translation by Ruth and Thomas Martin and an essay by Nathan Broder.
