The Serenade & Valse by, the relatively unknown composer, Marie Dare is an attractive addition to the repertoire in the first years of study (Level 2) and can be played entirely in first position. The Gavotte op. 112 by Sebastian Lee is a multi-faceted work for intermediate students (Level 3). Musically the Gavotte offers the possibility to present different characters. The piano part is intentionally simple and is limited to a supporting accompaniment.
