Tomaso Albinoni (1671-1750) is one of the most important representatives of the continuo style. J.S. Bach appreciated Albinoni and wrote three fugues on themes by him. This sonata is the second in the opus 6 consisting of 12 sonatas. The piano score of this edition gives the violin part and the figured bass according to the original.
