Jean-Joseph Cassanea de Mondonville (1711-1772) was a violinist, composer and conductor. With his early publications and the debut in the Concert spirituel 1734 he made a name for himself in Paris, where he developed an intensive concert activity from 1738 onwards. The piano score of this sonata gives the violin part and the figured bass after the original. Decorations and line markings have been added to the violin part.
