ÙThe Four Seasons in KyotoÎ is based on an older song-dance celebrating the seasonal beauty of Kyoto, historically JapanÕs capital. ÙThe Song of the PloverÎ was derived from an ancient koto song, later adapted into a dance. Transcribed by one of the most influential Japanese composers of the 20th century, this charming set of dances offers a valuable introduction to the elegance of historical Japanese art forms.
