New Urtext Edition. As Grieg's original publisher, some of the most important sources for these works, as cited in the Grieg Complete Edition, are in fact the Peters first editions, dating back as far as the 1860s for the first tow sonatas. So it is neatly symmetrical that the new Peters editions afford an opportunity to revisit and update the scholarship in the Grieg Complete Edition (volume 8).
