A key work of romantic concert literature Edition for violin and pianodesignated by Robert Schumann.
Robert Schumann's Concerto op. 129 can be considered the first major cello concerto. Schumann composed the score in 1850 during his time in Düsseldorf. It was only towards the end of the 19th century that Schumann's cello concerto became a repertoire piece. The Urtext edition is based on the first print of the voices and piano reduction. The collaborator on the edition for cello and piano was none other than the internationally renowned soloist Heinrich Schiff. In addition, Schiff's comments provide valuable information on the interpretation of the work.
