Wide World

£1.00

SKU Code: FBR-9027

Wide World was especially composed to be simultaneously performed at the Barbican in London and at The Sage Gateshead by two groups of performers. It celebrates the idea of ‘finding your voice’ in more senses than just the ‘singing’ voice, since young people have their whole lives before them: to get the most out of all the opportunities and possibilities the world has to offer, it’s always best if you feel confident in yourself and the friends and family around you. The song was commissioned by ‘Sing Up’, whose slogan is ‘helping kids find their voice’. This is what Wide World – and singing in a group – is all about, gaining strength and courage from those around you, discovering who you really are and what you want to achieve. Wide World is full of promise and hope, inspired by the optimism of young people. Its words were written by Charles Hart, who wrote the lyrics for Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera.

Duration 5 minutes.
