These 6 sonatas do not have an opus number and were composed by Devienne for the flute, too. Up to now, there have been no definite answers to the questions as to which version came first, which version is an adaptation of an earlier one or who is responsible for this adaptation. At least, they seem to have been authorised by Devienne himself if the various people they were dedicated to are anything to go by. This edition can be highly recommended as it contains sonatas for the bassoon previously more or less unknown and which enrich each concert repertoire.
